Western_civ is, if I'm remembering right, a game made for a Day of Zeux. It has some really pretty boards, but unfortunately it's unplayable because the battle engine doesn't work.

In the battles you're press a key corresponding to a random number that pops up before the enemy fires, but pressing the number doesn't work: all you can do is watch your health drain away in the first battle. There's also a rifle minigame that's kind of creative but presents no challenge once you figure out what to do.

I like the aesthetic, though! Music and sounds work well, and the graphics are nice. It's kind of an anime/Old West thing, probably inspired by Trigun. Too bad everything else in the game is weak.
